shift solenoid replacement?

More then likely the shift solenoid has failed. I attached the testing below on how to test for this code.

Also, I attached the process on how to replace the solenoid in the valve body as that is most likely going to be the issue.

can you tell me or show me a diagram of the location of the shift solenoid on this vehicle please? thank you. the car runs great in reverse, but when i put it in drive it hesitates and will not change gears, has no power to go. my scanner gave me the code po974.

the Yaris did not arrive in US until the 2008/9 time frame. but it is in the transmission on the valve body, see pictures. a transmission professional should really look at this as it may be something other than a solenoid like a clutch seal going out etc.

In the code book it says po974 is the shift solenoid ss A control circuit high, I need to know which solenoid it is out of the 5 it shows in the diagram you sent me

shift solenoid s1 is the one replacing that may not be the problem however.

then what else could it be?

short in wiring, ecm stuck valve in valve body, try it see if it works if not have amechanic look at it.

is there anyway you can send me a image of the valve body and location of the ecm valve on the valve body please and is the ecm valve the pressure valve?

the ecm is a module that controls the engine and transmission. the solenoid is already in the diagram that I sent earlier top right marked s1
