I just started having trouble getting the shifter into park. I have to slam it as hard as I can to get into park.

Hi John,
More than likely the shifter just needs to be adjusted. Here is the procedure. Run through this and let me know the results and if it doesn't resolve the concern then we can go from there. However, I think you will see a great improvement as long as there is no damage. Let me know and we can go from there. Thanks

Thanks for the information. I will print this out and save it. Unbelievably the issue cleared up on its own and has been fine for three days now. It might prove symptomatic again in the future so I now have something to fall back on.
