When the car gets up to between sixty to sixty five mph it shakes, before sixty mph it drives fine. I have changed all the parts on the front end of the car. I have changed the front axle, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, struts, brakes, rotors, ball joints in the front of the car. Had the car aligned. And still have the problems. I even changed one of the rims in the front. It is an annoying problem. I do not know what else to change or if I should change all the parts on the back end of the car. Can you tell me what the problems is? I take care of all my cars. Thanks

I suggest balancing the tires and examining for distortion or bent wheels in the process.

I had the tires balanced and the shimmy still happens at 60 to 65 mph. Any other ideas?

I assume you do not mean only when the brakes are applied. That just means they missed the problem when they balanced them. If any of the wheels are bent, they will not balance properly.

No, I do not mean when the brakes are applied as I am driving and reach a speed of 60 to 65 mph it shimmies. I had them balanced by two different shops and still the same problem. When you say wheels are bent do you mean the rims? because I replaced only one of the rims. I am not a mechanic and trying to have this problem fixed. That is why I had everything replaced in the front of the car.

There is no question that the symptoms you are describing are caused by something in the tires and wheels. When they balance the tires, they also need to examine how true they turn. Most places have some kid doing that stuff that does not even look at the wheel while it is turning.

Thanks for all your help. I will try to find a shop who can properly balance and look at the wheels.

Also, have them make sure there is nothing inside the tire like water or fix-a-flat.
Although the tires and wheels are definitely the base cause of the vibration, any looseness (worn parts) in the steering or suspension will exaggerate the vibration also.

I have already replaced all the steering and suspension parts in the front of the car. I will have them take the tires off and check inside to make sure nothing is inside the tires and have them put the tires back on and balance them. Thanks for all your help. Hopefully this is the problem.

There was a bulletin I remember about the lower control arm bushings on those causing a vibration when they went even visibly bad.

Okay I will have the shop look at the lower control arm bushings. I believe when I had the whole front of the car replaced they checked them. Thanks for your help

Okay, I checked and I replaced the control arms and bushings when I replaced everything in the front end of the car. I will also have them rotate the tires. Thanks

They won't look bad looking at them we had very low mileage cars with vibrations from the bushings and I never saw anything that looked bad with them.He can try moving them with a pry bar.

If you have a bad axle on those you will only feel the vibration while your giving it gas.As soon as you let go of the gas the vibration disappears.

No just the front axle, I changed everything in the front of the car. Its not the axle. The vibration is only at 60 to 65 mph otherwise the car runs smoothly.
