Hi can you tell me if the power steering pump needs to be removed to change the tensioner. If you have the service manual procedure print out for reference. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Neil

Hi,

Yep, on this vehicle, the power steering pump does need to be removed in order to replace the belt tensioner.

If you look below, I provided the directions for the removal and installation of the tensioner. Take a look through them and let me know if you have questions or if there is anything I can do to help.

Take care and let me know if this helps.

Hi Joe,

That's perfect! I will secure the belt elsewhere, so it won't fall off. I find a piece of duct tape on the crankshaft pulley keeps the belt in place and not fall off. I use this method when installing also. I find it assures belt alignment. Thanks again!

Hi Joe, job went smoothly with no problems. If changing belt also. It's much easier to get on and off when the tensioner is removed. Thanks again.
