Security system flashes and ticks for about 30 seconds every time I turn on the engine

Whenever I start my vehicle, the blinkers flash for 30 seconds, or so. Is something wrong with the security system? The key fob works fine, and I have no problem getting the engine to start.

Did this just start one day or is this after a jump start or some other issue? The fact that they are coming on and then shutting off on their own sounds like a control unit. You have a turn signal and hazard unit on the left side of the dash but if this happened after something else happening then that may change this. However, if this just started one day then I suspect it is this control unit.
