I have a 2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 2WD V6 4.0L, and I need brake pads. What are some good brands for this vehicle? Also I am not sure if I need front or rear or both.

The cheapest pads you can find will be fine. That's not to say your vehicle came with cheap pads, just that it costs just as much to make less-expensive linings as it does to make expensive ones. What the manufacturers have to be very careful of is that their linings have the same "coefficient of friction" as the original ones. That is important to maintain the braking balance between the front and rear brakes. You do not want new front pads that can lock up the wheels easier than the rear ones. The only way to know which linings must be replaced is to perform an inspection. With the age and mileage you listed you are probably doing a lot of highway driving so the rear linings are probably fine yet.

How do you pull a rotor off of a 2002 Four Runner? Front rotors Braking system completly nothing but dust caps and rotor!!! Pulled front dust cap no help without a tool!!! Is there a press involved!! Do you need a tool a fly wheel puller or something like it? Or do you go through the large dust plate in the back of the wheel mount and knock the rotor out that way? Signed Stumped!!!

the rotors are probably rusted around the center. spray all around the inside of the center of the at the center and around the lugs to try and loosen it up. then heat it up and hit on it with a hammer between the lugs till it comes off.

It could be the way you drive if your hard on the brake's and make short stop's.You could also have a sticking front caliper. Also if you have rear drum's brake's and there out of adjustment that can warp your front brake's because all the braking is being done in the front and the rear isn't helping with the braking.
