When directional mirror buttons are pushed or something is plugged into the cigarrete lighter radio goes out. The lighter has charger for my ear piece and it does function but the radio does not. The electrical mirrors do not function at all. I'm thinking it my not be a good ground somewhere. Any help will greatly appreciated.

thanks

Hello - All three of those items run off the same fuse. Please look at the instrument panel fuse box fuse labeled ACC. Pull it and check it with an ohm meter. Even a good eye ball can't always tell if the fuse is good.

If the fuse is good, look in the lighter and see if there is anything stuck inside there......anything. Make sure there is nothing in it and then see if the other things work. If things still don't work right then disconnect the lighter plug and make sure the fuse is good and then try the radio and mirror to see if they work okay. If they do replace the lighter socket.

This worked.

Note the older bark blue 15A fuses now come in light blue and cost less than $2 for the dealer

It turned out to be the fuse. Autozone sells these fuses with the light diode built in, if the diode glows its good if not its bad. Although it did glow it also acted as a current limiter so when I turn on more then one item connected to the same circuit all would go out but would not blow the fuse.

Thanks for all the replies.
