2007 Scion tC clock/outside temp window

I have a 2007 tc that had the same problem. If you start the car without the lights on the clock should be lit up. When you go to turn the lights on it will go off. This should not happen. The whole panel should light up. There is a defective part on the circuit board behind the panel and the whole control panel needs to be replaced. I took mine to the dealer and they replaced it for free.
