I've had a local garage replace my clutch on my vehicle listed above it has been fine, but when cold I have had trouble getting it in first gear. the mechanic told me to keep the clutch pedal wedged down. I have down for a day it worked fine, but next day the same thing happened again trouble getting it in first gear. i have now left it wedged again will this method work to remove air from the clutch if I leave it long enough?

Having someone tell you to hold the pedal down to bleed the air is not sufficient. Unfortunately we don't have a manual on this vehicle so I am not able to tell you how to actually bleed this clutch but that is what needs to happen. This is clearly an issue with air in the system so I would take it back to them and ask they bleed it again until this doesn't happen.

Here are some guides that will help explain what is happening:

Well, I didn't have time this week to take my car back to the garage so I left the clutch pedal pushed down with a wood block from Monday. I took it off Friday and the clutch is working fine. it's Sunday and there's been no problem with it so in this instance maybe only a small amount of air was the problem and and this clutch down method has worked...

Unbelievable. You are the first one that I have heard of that this actually worked. Good info. I am going to start recommending this more often for those that can take the time to do what you did. Thanks again. Glad you got it all worked out.
