someone already put the felpro blue not sure how far\bak a few yrs i think. do they go bad like shrink i just did a starter and noticed oil up on manifold runners and all the way down engine also on crank pulley side and car leaks on ground i pulled topcover and i see it's the same gasket set i am about to use and it dont look bad actually. the spark plug hole far\ left has a little oil sitting. is this felpro replacement any good? would silicone help? there's 4 block sensors around starter but none of them looked like leakers. i hate doin work and no improvement!

I put a felpro one on my 1999 sl2 it worked well the gaskets do compress and leak over time. You must put a bead of silicone across both T joints where the front cover meets the head or you will have a leak right away.

seems like a weird design no actual pressure from bolts on cover i guess i could understand it with a plastic cover? ford (better idea) tempo tried same route with an aluminum cover what a mess! japs used o ring with aluminum and solid bolt down i think that is best simplest design! with this LOOSE?FLOATING approach i can see seepage is getting past gasket i wonder if high mileage blowby is also not helping with seepage? and what do you mean by t-joint?

i am also thinking the design of the gasket is faulty? there is this raised ridge on the head contact area that i think should be a slot/groove instead. i wonder if any experimentation was done on the design originally? the auto industry has become such an BUY IT and TRY IT HYPE monster driven by BENJAMINS!?
