1998 Saturn SW2 Engine Jerks

When you say engine jerk's when putting it in reverse or drive do you mean it shift's hard into those gear's?also when you say and while driving, getting up to 50, it pulls out hard to go at a higher speed.Do you mean it down shift's hard?

yes, if I put the care in reverse, it does a hard jerk going into gear, also while driving, getting up to 50, it seems to be pulling some, but smooths out at higher speeds, its an automatic. also, the service engine light stays on for service f, if someone knows how to turn this off, would be helpful

The light is on for a reason you need to go to a auto part's store like auto zone and get your car scanned for code's and bring the code number's back to me.
