1 The fuel pressure checks out OK with running engine (with vacuum to regulator and without), but goes to 0 immediately when the engine is turned off. I checked pump directly (engine off) with the same results. My manual says replace the pump, but why?
2 Engine sometimes kicks back when cranking to start, like hydraulic lock or pre- ignition, and runs rough, with low gas mileage. Code reader says #2 cylinder miss-fire. One ignition coil (to #2) was making a snapping noise and primary resistance was under spec so I replaced the coil (plus plugs and wires). New coil makes the same noise, and engine has the same problems.
3 Could #2 injector be leaking and causing both problems?

It should hold the residual pressure its not suppose to leak that fast its leaking somewhere could be the injector/s, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump check valve
