2002 Saturn SL2 2001 Saturn Sedan- Has not been driven in 2

Engine Performance problem
2002 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Automatic 70.000 miles

I was just given a car by a neighbor who needed to move. The neighbor stated that the car is fine, just needs an oil change and battery. I now have the keys and title, The car has been out in the drive way not being driven for 2 years. What is the first thing I need to do before attempting to start the car after putting in a new battery and doing an oil change?
suggestion? Should it be towed to my mechanic first?
