My car seems to be having some transmission issues. When I first bought the car, everything worked fine. After I had the car for about 3 months, I would notice that when I was sitting in traffic, stop and go, that my car would start to overheat. Then the check engine light would come on and when I would take off the car would not shift gears, it would just rev up. It would still move though. I could stop the car and let it cool off and the transmission would return to normal. After some time, the water pump went completely out on the car to where all the coolant was leaking out and I replaced it, stopping the overheating and leaking. Two days after I replaced the water pump, I was driving and the transmission started to do the same thing. It eventually has just stuck in one gear and transmission fluid leaks. If I put the car in neutral or reverse, it still goes forward.

First of all thank u so much for ur donation it really helps so we can answer everybodys questions.so ur transmission moves foward when ur in neutral or reverse I have seen this before did u ever have a delay or trouble going in reverse before this happened?I have the input shaft nut loosen up usually causes a delay in reverse if it gets loose enough u can lose reverse.when they loosen up it allows the input shaft to move side to side.on the input shaft u have 2nd which is also the clutch for reverse and the biggest clutch pack and third gear right behind it.then on the end of the shaft by the nut is first gear clutch pack outside the transmission under the side cover.what happens when the shaft is loose and it moves side to side it will hammer the 2nd and 3rd gear clutch plates and sometimes from that happening it will distort or cause them to become wavey so they won't sit flat againist each other anymore.so the gear never really fully releases.if this were to happen u would move foward in neutral and reverse.also do u have any codes let me know.
