Hello, I was Driving my car today and all of a sudden my "Check Engine Soon" light came on and stayed on steady. This has never happend before so im kind of nervous about it. I also noticed that sometimes my gas peddle hesitates to be pushed down when in drive. but only on the first start up of my car. After i drive it for a while the gas peddle accelerates just fine. I've been using 87 type fuel for 2 years now ever since the gas drought here in GA 2 years ago and everyone was fighting to get gas and all was left was the 87 brand. I normaly use the higher brand but have not since the drought. Could you help me figure my problem out soon. Will it be ok to keep driving my car until i find something out?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.

As long as its not giving you an engine performance/driveability problem.

No its running smoothly like normal, nothing has changed except the light came on yesterday and just on steady..so i will take my car to auto zone or o'reliy to see if they do code scan and go from there. Thanks again,
