Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150 k miles

Our Saturn just decided not to work one morning-it tries to turn over but it cannot. We changed the fuel pump and the fuel filters already-we checked the fuel pump relay and cannot find a reset button anywhere. We also checked the ignition control module and fuel pump fuse. All of these are working fine. We would appreciate any input you would have-we have been working on this car for the past 4 days, and cannot afford to buy a new one right now. Please advise. Thank you.

We removed 2 wires and while I tried to start it ... my wife saw the sparks jumping. I think we were a little confusing in the first note tho. I did replace the fuel pump and check the fuse, relay, and ignition control module. But, the new fuel pump will not turn on (same as the old one). So, I guess the old one was ok. Is there an inline fuse between the relay and the pump? Or do I have a bad wire between those two? Or something else I am missing.
I appreciated your input .... thanks

I sent you a fuel pump wire diagram to your personal email.Since your fuel pump isn't working let's do this get a test light and on your inside fuse box take the test light and hold it to one side of the fuel pump fuse then turn on the ignition to the start position the test light should show power. Now do the same thing to the other side. What did you find no power at any side only one side.Let me know what you find and i will tell you what we need to check next.
