My 1996 Saturn SL2 engine coolant light keeps blinking constantly. My coolant nor engine has never overheated but I did do some work. I changed my radiator, ECT Sensor, radiator pumps, spark plugs/wires, alternator, EGR valve and radiator cap.

After making these replacements, I still get the Engine Coolant light blinking.

first of all thank u for ur donation it really helps to keep this site going and answering everyones questions.first thing i would check is ur coolant level in bottle when its cold make sure its up too the seam if it is then check ur back up fuse in the under hood fuse box its a 10 amp mini fuse if thats blown then the light will stay on.if all thats good and the light stays on then unplug the sensor at the bottom of the bottle and jumper the two connectors and cycle the key if it goes out bad bottle if it stays on then u have a wire or connector issue from the bottle.let me know what u find so we can talk about it.

No problem, I know it isn't much, but at least it is something then nothing.

I had a radiator flush three days ago, and my coolant temperature light today kept blinking non stop. When I got home, I looked under the hood finding out I had no coolant in the overflow tank!!! So I topped it off all the way, and after work I took a glance at it, and found out I LOST SOME MORE COOLANT! =O

Is my overflow tank and sensor defective? Do I have a leak in the overflow tank? Is my engine burning or neglecting my coolant? Or is it all these possibilities?

If ur light only comes on when the coolant is low then it's not the sensor.sounds like u might have a external leak.the most common places are on the radiator tank right below where the hose goes on the tank cracks and leaks.the coolant cap not holding pressure venting coolan off.an the water pump leaking.also sometimes the coolant bottles leak from the bottom also.check those places out if u can't fund anything there then u will have to have ur cooling system pressure tested or add dye to the coolant.let me know what u find.
