1992 Saturn SL2 Codes 32 and 34, EGR Valuve Fault, and MAP

Electrical problem
1992 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 139k miles

Hello, new guy to this site and I'm hoping I can put this problem to rest. My 92 Saturn SL2 will horrifically buck and fall on its face at random times, more now than ever. I also stall and die at stop lights and can't stay in normal idle while sitting in drive. I idle at about 400pms, which I know is NOT RIGHT.

I dont know what to do anymore, but I got codes 32 and 43. 32 Is EGR Valve fault, and 34 has to do with my MAP sensor circuit out of range low. Should I just replace those part.

Don't replace the parts just yet. They aren't cheap. Follow these diagnostics first. DTC32

It can be either the EGR valve (EGV588 $75.79) or the EGR valve solenoid (2F1164 $35.79). It will be either one of them. Since you have low idle, I suspect the solenoid. Both prices are from rockauto.com EGV588

Well, one sure fire thing is that the MAP sensor fixed the "car falling on it's face" problem. I haven't been bucking or stalling anymore (and I hope it stays that way) so that's that. But as far as the EGR valve and the selo, I just took off the EGR and blew it out with some carb cleaner, and all the carbon shot out of the actual valves. I'm sure that did something, as well as cleaning the tube itself.

It seems that I idle at 500 rpms. Is that the normal for these old cars, or is it supposed to be higher???

That works, to with the EGR valve. Your idle is non-adjustable, controlled by the ECM. Why don't you do the same thing you did to the EGR valve to the idle air control valve. That should help with the low idle. You idle should be around 650 - 800. Just make sure that you don't move the pintle inside the IAC valve.
