So what code's do you have in the computer the code number's please.So your saying the car never shift's out 4th gear ever.The more details the better what color was the fluid you drained out of the transmission when you changed it?

Sorry--the car is a 1994. I can't pull the codes for a car with OBD-1. The fluid was thin but not burnt when I changed it. The car will shift from Park, Neutral, Reverse, but when you put it in any forward gear, it stays in 4th. Thanks for any help you can give.

What color was the fluid you changed?How do you know it's stuck in fourth and not just a big lack of power from the engine?You can flash the codes out on that car with a jumper wire.I posted how you get the code's.Let me know what the code number's are you get.
