I have a 1998 saturn sl with 151,000 miles, 5 speed manual, 1.9L engine. It started happening just this week. When I take my foot off the gas the engine just dies about 50% of the time. The engine seems to perform well at higher RPMs but when I come to a stop or take my foot off the gas the engine dies! Just checked the plugs they're fine. My buddy thinks it might be an oxygen sensor. but has no idea which sensor or where it is. Please respond with any suggestions or ideas!
Thanks for your help,
ERIC

its not ur o2 sensor when they go bad they dont run that bad.try replacing ur coolant temp sensor there only like 10.when u replace it make sure u get a brassed tipped one the plastic tipped ones crack.also make sure u check the connector if its corroded replace the connector too.they usually turn green when they corrod.also make sure the engine is cold when u change it u will loose coolant when u change it.i posted the location of it for u let me know how it runs with the new sensor.

This could also be your vacuum lines. When they dry rot it can cause this problem. My saturn did the exact same thing and replacing the vacuum lines fixed it.
