1998 Saturn SL1

the ignition switch is stuck in between the off and on postion but the key came out what can i do to fix this problem without having to buy a new ignition switch

ensure gear selector is fully in PARK and lubricate lock cylinder with WD 40 than try to insert key and turn it off. also try with a new key.
