Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Saturn SL1 4 cyl Automatic 191031 miles
About a year or so ago we were advised to replace the belt tensioner and pulley after it became loose - the car was overheating and stalling. My husband replaced these pieces plus the belt, however, said when he removed the part the "spindle" that the part attaches to on the engine was messed up. I didn't get a chance to see it or take a picture before he put the new part on. We recently had to replace the tensioner again due to similar problems beginning and identifying this as the problem. This time I have a picture of the damage. We have a Haynes manual but it does not address this piece that I can find. It is not clear to us if this is a replaceable part or if so, what is required to replace it. Also, in doing some quick searching, it appears that there may be a product such as Permatex thread repair or a cold weld bonding product that we may be able to use to fill in where this "spindle" is stripped. Can you please advise. Thank you so much for your help.
