My 2002 Saturn SC2 didn't have much coolant in the car when I bought it off the used lot, but I would mix water with it every other day(did this for about a month, I know not very good to do), till I got coolant, well the other day it overheated, when I popped the hood, there was no coolant/water in there. I also see that my ac compressor is burnt up now, the copper shavings are melted and have fallen, and now my battery was dead, I took it to oriellys to get it charged, they called me back a minute ago saying it was still good. A couple of us have this theory that the ac compressor was bad and was pulling the battery too much, and therefore my cooling fan wasn't operating(electric) + I didn't have much coolant, is there a chance if I put the recharged battery in something else will happen?

or is there possibly another explanation to this,

I'm not to sure if I waited long enough too put water in the coolant tank to cool it off though after overheating, is there also I chance I might have cracked the cylinder?

so your a/c compressor is locked up the center of the clutch doesnt turn?if so you will have to replace your compressor or get a belt that is for a car without a/c to bypass it.also your going to have to have your alternator tested to make sure thats not why your battery is dead.you could have overheated because you have a leak and lost your coolant.also your cooling fan might not have come on because of a bad coolant temp sensor or bad fan motor.you could have damaged your head gasket or head depending on how hot your engine got.you will have to play that one by ear and see how it runs once you get it all back running again.since you lost all your coolant i would put in about 3 quarts of dex cool in and the rest water.also get a new coolant cap your old one is probably blown with all this over heating.letting me know what you find and when you get the car running again so we can figure this out.

Okay that's what I thought, should I also take it to a local. Mechanic shop to get a diagnostics check? Do you think if I have the car in first gear and I give it a rolling start to see if the engine will start without the ac compressor? Because if it starts its for sure the ac compressor from my guess? Again ty in advance, its helped.

So with the battery charged the engine still wont turn over? Can you hear the starter click even? You can't pop start your car in first it has to be atleast in third gear.So the a/c compressor is frozen up in the middle of the clutch it wont turn at all?Let me know.

Take the belt off and see if the engine turns over and starts if it does shut the car off don't let it run without a belt. Also check and see if the center of the a/c compressor clutch spins.let me know what you find.
