sounds like ur clutch is dragging when ur clutch warms up it expands and takes up more clearance to release.is ur clutch pedal hard going down all the way or does it take some travel to get firm if it does u could have a bad clutch master/slave cyclinder if its firm all the way down sounds like ur clutch pressure plate is worn and isnt releasing the clutch disc.good luck.

Thanks for your response. My clutch feels fine. It has the same consistency, if you will, the whole way.

However, a funny thing happened. About 2 weeks after I posted the question, it stopped. Completely stopped. But, about a week ago, my service engine soon light came on. Yesterday, the issue started again, however, not as severe, and it happens very sporadically.

We were thinking, due to the intermittency of the issue, that it might be the IAC.

You said it only happened when it was in gear with the clutch pushed in so that's why I was suspecting the clutch.so what code did it set the iac is pretty reliable on those cars but they do get carboned up from time to time.the coolant temp sensors fail alot more on those and do cause strange idles surging at idle and not do it all the time.when the car is cold unplug that sensor that's screwed into the head below the upper hose u squeeze the connector to release it.see if it is green or wet with coolant.u can also unscrew it and see if the part that Goes into the head is cracked they usually crack when they go bad.just becareful because u will lose coolant when u take the sensor out.they go bad alot and there cheap under 20.let me know what u find.
