Speed Sensor Location

I have a '94 SL-2 that I cannot seem to figure out where the speed sensor is located.

I had the air filter box and battery pulled out for a week while I was waiting for a part to come in and some squirrels must have gotten in there and chewed on at least one wire. I have repaired the only wire I can find that has been chewed on, but now the speedometer doesn't work and I can only assume it is a bad wire. I cannot find any more wires that have been chewed on, but I really don't know specifically where to look.

Even verifying that the speed sensor is electric rather then mechanical would be a help.

It's electric.

Good hunting and let us know. :) Ps. Give the squirrels a bird feeder with seed to play with.

Thanks for the response. Two questions though:

1. My car is an automatic, would it be roughly the same?

2. Is that the rear of the transmission?

I do believe so to both questions. I would have to go outside to check in the snow so I'll leave that to you. :)

Good hunting and let us know.

Thanks for the help. I was able to find the sensor (had to come in from the bottom to see it). There was about 6 inches of wire just gone between the sensor connection and the wire bundle that it fed to. So I just soldered some wire in there and the speedometer now works.

Thanks again for the help.
