High Beam Connected To?

My highbeam was replaced, but still didn't work. The next day driving 10 minutes to work, I noticed my battery light going on. The next day, I got in the car and my battery was dead and the new highbeam headlight still wasn't working. The headlight is though.

I don't know the type car, you didn't say, but generally, with this condition, I suspect a shor at the switch, or the connector.
