I need to disable the airbags on my 1998 Saturn SL2 so I can replace the ignition lock. The service manaual does not say how to do this, but it does say that the airbag can still deploy upto 10 minutes after the battery has been disconnected. I am guessing that if I wait about 15 minutes after the battery has been disconnected, I should be able to work on the car with out setting off the airbags. Is this correct, or do I need to do something else?
The car is a 1.9L DOHC with 177k miles.
Thanks
