I just bought a used 2003 Saturn vue with Add'l 3year warrenty.
My problem started with a "service engine soon" and "reduced power" light being diplayed on my dashboard. the symptoms of he cars mobility were that it would take a long time to get up to 55mph. and the engine would rev up to 5000rpms when I was trying to start moving. The transmission didn't seem like it was catching.
I brought it in for service and they couldn't tell me what it was right away, but it seemed like a transmission problem. and it was covered under my warrenty because it was a "VT" transmission. Apparently they are covered up to 75,000 miles. My car is at 44,500.
The next day they told me the problem was a Sensor in my gas pedal assembly, it is not sending the right signal to the transmission. In turn it will cost $269.00. and this complete assemly is not covered under my warrenty. It sounds fishy. Is there any truth to this?
