the 1406 i think is a problem with the EGR can this cause iratic shifting?

ur egr valve is not going to set a incorrect 2nd 3rd and 4th gear codes thats for sure.its most like a pressure issue.u usually dont loose 3 gears like that all at once unless its a electrical or pressure issue.how does the car shift?let me know.
