1995 Other Saturn Models Cooling Fan Sensor

I have a 1995 Saturn SW2 wagon and I wanted to replace the cooling fan temperature sensor but I could only find the temperature gauge sensor. My question is are they one in the same or two seperate sensors. I thought the one I found was the correct one but when I changed it my temp guage stopped working so I put the old one back in and it worked fine. If anyone could tell me the location of the cooling fan sensor it would be much appreciated. I can only get the cooling fan to work when the A/C is on.
