Hi my Check engine light and service light come on and as soon as they do the tachometer drops down to zero. it has done this while sitting at a red light and while driving 60 to 70 mph. The car does not seem to feel any different and the light comes on for one to two seconds and goes off when the lights come on the rpm goes down when the lights go off the rpm goes back to normal. i went from 2500 rpm to about 100 or 0 and nothing felt different. please help me....... Had two diagnostics run on my car and no codes came up

Go to a auto part's store like auto zone and have them scan your car for code's.Bring me back the code number's and we will go from there.

If the light come's on there should be code's you might have to go somewhere else so they can read you body control module code's.Does the car ever die out when you loose the rpm reading? It sound's like you might be loosing your crank shaft sensor signal.

I took it to another mechanic today and they ran diagnostics on it looking at the history and current. and they got no codes. the car feels fine when it drops rpm.... feels normal and has not lost power or has not broken down yet

Without any code's to lead us in a direction we are just going to have to wait for something to break so we can trace the problem down.
