2001 Saturn L300 Service Engine Soon

I got a "service engine soon" indicator on my Saturn - had the code read and it was P0300 - random misfire. Now I'm not getting the "service engine soon" light anymore and the car is running fine. Just bought the car 2 wks ago - could the problem have corrected itself? Or should I take it in?

i have seen that code set falsely before from the lifters not being pumped up etc.i would keep an eye on the light if it comes back on then i would take it in.
