I have a 2000 SATURN L2 200 - 2.2ENGINE... I was driving and one of the pullyes that hold the timming belt broke I cheked the timming belt and is not broken but is loose because the pulley broke i actually took 3 bearing balls that where in the plastic cov...

First of all i need to know if you really have the 2.2L 4cyl engine if you do then that engine has a timing chain.Then you would be talking about the drive belt tenisor that broke.If you have the V6 3.0L then that has a timing belt but it's under a cover.Let me know.

If you have a 3.0 engine then you have a LS2 model in 2000 model year that's what it would be called.If your timing belt came loose when your engine was running then that can damage your valve's.You will have to get a new belt on there and see if it start's.I would have a professional put it on those belt's are no fun to replace.Let me know if you have any more question's.

would it be possible that the valve's are not damage or its for sure that they are??? from your experience is this for sure that the valve"s are damage???

From my expernice It is possible that you didn't bend any valve's.But it could go ethier way I wish I could tell you one way or the other but I can't.All I can tell you is you will have to replace the timing belt and hope for the best.The only other thing you can do is have someone take the spark plug's out which would be alot of labor and see if they could use a bore scope to look in the cylinder and see if they can see if the valve's are bent.But if they wern't then you would still have to replace the belt.So it's up too u what you want to do.
