1999 Saturn L200 Key won't turn

I have a 1999 Saturn SL2 with 175,000 miles. Within the last week I have started having trouble starting it. I have to jiggle the key and it takes several trys to get the ignition to turn.

I had the same problem with my '04 Ion, it started off occasionally and progressed to the point where it just could not be started at all. It would seem that the ignition mangles the key and a new one made from the code is needed. I was informed by the repair tech that I would probably need one about every 6 months. A new key only cost about $7.50
