We have trouble code P0496 evap system...what does it mean...any corrective measures? Thanks Larry

P0496 means that the engine computer detects vacuum in the fuel tank during a non-purge condition during start-up. It could either be a purge solenoid stuck open or a fuel tank pressure sensor issue. The more likely cause is the pruge solenoid going by my past experince. I'd take a look at that and start there.
