2008 Saturn Astra Headlights flicker

Hi i have a problem with my headlights they flicker (like a strobe light, (in u-nisin))when the car is running.But when the car is off they do turn on and stay on after i turn them on like 5 times as if they are warming up.(the fog lights work fine,&parking lights and signal lights and tail lights)

i have checked all ground,fuses,connectors u name it.
please help......... need this resolved a.s.a.p

This is an interesting one. Has the security / theft light ever stayed on or flashed? Truly this sounds like it is a problem with the security system.

No the security light does not stay on or flash one thing it does is every time i put the key in ingnition the hazard lights flash but alarm does not come on.this car has been in a accident that when it started doing it.Thanks hope to hear from you soon

When it was in an accident, what part of the car was hit, the front or back? Also, were the air bags deployed (anything that may have caused a mechanic to take apart the steering column)?

Hi the steering column was not messed with, the air bags did go off, and it was hit in the front also the air bags that went off were only the drivers wheel and pessenger side. Thanks

Based on that, I would have to say there is a short in the steering column. You will need to carefully remove the steering wheel (note battery needs disconnected for at least 30 minutes prior to working on or around the air bag) and begin checking wiring for damage. That is where I would start. My reasoning is because of the deployment of the air bag. It would have required the mechanic to take things apart which could allow error or damage.

The air bags have not yet been replaced so they have not been tooken apart to have any thing wrong in the steering wheel.you were saying something abuot it might be something with the theft system??is there a way to uhook it and see if it is causing the problems??or is there something else i can check?? thanks
