Started my truck this morning and the battery light came on with battery not charging message on the dash and then service brake booster message as well. I hear the same noise and feel the vibration in the brake pedal but it didn't last but just a minute and went away but the battery not charging message and battery light have continued all day is I've been driving. Did you pinpoint the issue? What is the solution?

Sorry, I'm new to this but I posted the question after reading this guy's post with the exact same issues. I've included a screenshot. Since the initial issue the blower fan on the air conditioner has started acting up, not going up or down normally with the fan switch and then remaining on low after turning the engine off. I don't know if these are related but they happened in the same day!

Good morning,

Do you have a voltmeter to do some testing at the battery?

You need to check the voltage with the engine off. Then run the engine and see what the voltage reads. You should have 14 to 14.5 volts with it running.

I also attached a wiring diagram for you. Verify power to the back of the alternator.

Okay, you can get a cheap meter at a parts store for the test. Once you get a meter, we can do some testing to narrow the area of failure.

Parts stores, Harbor Freight and such have them for about $10.00 to $15.00.

Okay, thanks! I was really hoping to get in touch with the guy who posted previously in March with identical issues and see if you figured it out. Is there any way to contact him?

I can send this to the Admin for this for you. If it has to do with the battery issue, you can continue here.

If it is the other issue, you need to start a new question as we can only answer one issue at a time per question.

I just figured since he had the exact same identical issue that it may be quick and easy to find out what he did to fix it if you figured it out.

We give suggestions for the repair and repair procedures but they do not always respond with telling us if the car was fixed. At times, I always think no news was good news.

We will check.

Battery light just came on and stayed on and gauge dropped to nothing. I managed to get to my buddies house but the battery is completely dead and the truck won't start.

Okay, you need to charge the battery back up to 12.6 volts.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-charge-your-car-battery

Then start it and check the voltage at the battery with a voltmeter and tell me the voltage.
