1997 Saab 900 Power Door Locks won't unlock drivers door

The power door lock mechanism will not allow the driver door to be unlocked, even with the key from the outside. The power door lock button on the console will allow remaining 3 doors to be unlocked, but not the driver's. Even manually pulling up to unlock it will not work. Access to the vehicle must be through the passenger door or driver window. A real safety hazard.
