Hello:
The blower motor on my 1997 Saab 900SE has not been working. I removed the heater blower motor and confirmed that it is still OK. There are 2 wires extending from the motor with female ends. They connect to male ends on a white connector. The connector has a metal blade extending below on the other side of the connector directly opposite of one of the male ends. Under the other male end is some metal but not a blade. The connector also has 2 pins which connect to a connector from the wiper motor.

My question is:
How does the motor get its power to run? From the wiper motor connector that attaches to the white connector that also holds the 2 female leads from the motor? What is the purpose of the blade that extends on the other side of the connector? It does not seem to plug in to anything. HELP!

Attached is a picture of blower motor showing the 2 female leads.

Thanks!

Hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated blower motor get power from interior fan switch .. the prongs your are talking about are to screw down the resistor (if i'm reading your post correctly) If your blower is working correctly when you supply power to it .. I would check/replace the resistor BLOWER MOTOR Removal Blower motor is located in engine compartment, behind center of the bulkhead partition. Remove wiper arms. Remove cover over bulkhead. Remove wiper unit. Remove fresh-air filter. Unplug blower motor connector. Remove fresh-air filter frame. Remove blower motor cover. Remove screw securing blower motor resistor connector. Remove blower motor mounting screws, and lift out blower motor and fan unit. Installation To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure electrical wires are not pinched.
