My wife's 1997 Saab 900 S 2.3L engine will not start. It will not even crank over. Dash board and interior lights are bright. She told to me the week before when she was at intersection stopping, the car began to stall and when pushed down on the accelerator it sputtered for a few seconds until it smoothed out(she also let the fuel run quite low in the tank). I tried cold starting it after a fews hours when she got home and it took many cranks before it started. I had the battery checked found it was bad and replaced it with a new one. Now the car won't even crank and the battery, central and engine warning lights appear on the dash. Do I have another bad battery or some other problem ?

check the connections on the battery make sure they are clean and check to see if you have power at the starter and have starter tested
