My check engine light was on for a period of time, I had just completed some repairs, new battery, new heater bypass valve, and oil change the day before, the check engine went out after completing these repairs, started car in AM and heard wineing sound made sure that oil & water levels were ok, as I drove sound went away, drove for about 75 miles and check engine light started to flash and then car died, oil & water levels still ok, car will start and idle rough then shut down when try to accelerate, also turbo gauge will pin to top then drop. thinking that turbo went out, but not sure... is there any way to make sure it is just turbo and not anything internal???

best to get codes read ,do that at any advance auto stores & post back codes ,but anyways u sound like u have a throttle body problem & a DI cassette fault ,the reason why the eng light went out was because u disconnected the battery ,but fault was still present & eng light reset with new drive cycle ,so get codes read & i can better help u ,good luck.

Repair shop said that it was a lose concetion of air intake to throttel body, easy repair, suggested that i replace DI and numerous other issues, motor mounts, cat converter, service manager advised that ok to drive but long term would be best to try and get rid of auto as long term would cost more than auto worth....
