RPMs reving way up, when in neutral

just had the plugs and wires replaced, every since the idle has been whacked ! the RPMs shoot up when ever I am in neutral and the only way to stop this is to put the truck in gear... after a little while and when in neutral again ( like at a red light) the RPM's go way down... almost sputtering out completely....

Check to make sure no vacuum hoses were knocked off. Also, check the idle air control valve on the throttle body.
