What are the normal RPMs for my car associated with its speed?

Hi,

Is there any evidence of the clutch slipping? That does sound high if you are in 5th gear. However, the idea that it has a 1.6L engine it may simply be geared lower to accommodate the smaller engine.

And what you actually meant by that?
Moreover, I recently replaced the two belts in the car,
1. Engine belt.
2. Coolant belt.

Right now, I don't really have the car, but when I do, I will show you some pictures of the RPMs of this car...

Yeah, the fifth gear shows this and feels a bit heavier to accelerate when the RPMs is going higher.

If the clutch is slipping, it will be most noticeable when you have the vehicle under a load and in fifth gear. If you press the throttle, the RPMs will increase but the vehicle won't speed up. Is that what is happening?

Keeping in mind, the vehicle may simply not have a high-top speed. 145KM/H is somewhat fast. LOL But it does still seem higher than it should be.

Let me know what I can do to help. Also, I looked up the make, model, and year of the vehicle you listed. My manual only shows a 2.0L in it. Are you somewhere other than the US? The 1.6L doesn't seem to have been offered here in that year.

Do you mean the Cultch Kit?
Do I have to replace the whole gear Cultch Kit to resolve this kind of issue?

Plus, what is the connection between car RPM, cutting off/ stalling, and the cultch slipping?
I really got the stuff mixed up.

No problem whatsoever. LOL

You have two different issues.

First, if the clutch is slipping (RPM's increase but the vehicle doesn't gain speed), chances are the clutch assembly will need to be replaced.

Second, you indicated at a certain RPM the engine would cut (shut down or lose power). When I hear that happening when the engine is under load (accelerating), my first thoughts are the engine isn't getting enough fuel. Thus, I recommended checking the fuel pressure to make sure it isn't low.

and as well as the O2 percentage in my engine.

Regarding cultch Slipping...Right?
How do you know if your car Cultch is slipping or not?
My Cultch pedal is very light in terms of weight (just like a feather.) is that means the cultch is slipping on my car?

I haven't replaced the cultch yet, I really can't afford that right now, it's really so expensive from the agency (genuine parts by Mitsubishi) it's almost ($218.13 ) USD in your currency.

So, the question now is, Can I go for duplicated parts (Cheaper) instead for the cultch? or should it be genuine part from the agency of Mitsubishi?

At the end, I would go for the expensive one if the gear box or engine were damaged because of duplicated parts placed on. On the other hand, your opinion on this is highly appreciated and recommended.

Hi,

The pressure to press the clutch pedal doesn't indicate the clutch is bad. When you try to accelerate and the engine revs faster, but the vehicle doesn't speed up, that is an indication. This would be easiest to notice in 5th gear and the engine under a load.

Also, if you can record the tachometer/speedometer while accelerating and upload it for me to see, it should help.

Sorry about that. If you have access to quality aftermarket parts, that would be fine. Here, we mostly use aftermarket parts for this type of repair.
