Smells problem
2001 Rover 75 Manual 150000 miles

car was going perfectly until two weeks ago just not going too well - smelt burning - new clutch - got clutch fitted but since then still a smell of burning if stuck in traffic and a foul stale smell (like rancid water/sewers) - took it back to garage who fitted clutch and said it was just clutch settling - they just looked at me if i was mad when i mentioned the other smell - note when travelling on motorway - no semll just when it traffic - can you help

Is the smell the same as before (ie.) the clutch burning smell ?? or is it like rotten eggs smell .. if the smell is still as before then it could be that the garage just didn't clean up the remnants of the old clutch and it is still burning off but will clear up in time .. the rotten egg smell could be the catalytic convertor bad and this will need looking into at a garage !! hope this helps .. let me know
