rough idle slow to get going

Have you replaced the fuel filter or had a tune up does recently?

we changed,the mechanic did rather,the fuel filter,rotor,dist cap and the distributor itself....still not idling right....i was thinking,maybe,vaccum leak,
bad plug,or idle sensor........am i correct .............how can i check these mentioned.........thks for the help......steve b

Hope all is well with you, a vacuum leak with certainly make the engine idle poorly.

If this checks out okay, do a compression test to make sure a low cylinder isn't the problem.

hi.....the exterra selltled down,but,the check engine light came on....mechanic says tranny is the problem....the tranny guy says its electrical in tranny....what could this be now,,,,,thanks fr any help.....steve b

well.....thats the problem......tranny guy not sure what is wrong...he says its electrical.......how many electrical parts in that tranny can go wrong......is it that hard to figure out....been in shop a week now..............steve

There are a handful of shift solenoids and a couple switches and sensors, if the problem is outside of the garage's scope of expertise or the electrical problem will not presents itself, which is the problem which electrical issues, you have two choices, take it to another shop or just drive it until sometime else happens.
