Car was idling rough and began to hesitate with slight miss on acceleration. I changed the plugs and wires and it is still there. I will be changing the air filter and fuel filter this weekend, as well. Do you have any other ideas? No check engine light on.

Two things come to mind for me the first would be a vacuum leak which you can confirm by following this guide.

The next would be a mixture issue which can be mislead by a MAF sensor that is starting to wear out. You can try cleaning it but its better to replace it. The hot wire becomes contaminated which causes the sensor to misread.

Your car does not have a fuel filter but the fuel pump could be getting weak and cause the problem as well.

Please let us know what happens so it will help others.

I will check for a vacuum leak this weekend and work my way through the list from there. I will go ahead and price maf sensors too. I have a feeling it will be $150 or more for that little gem.
