rotor overheat

I have experienced on the highway, when I stepped on brakes. The car was shaking. Took it to Audi dealer. They claimed my rotor was overheated but my pad is fine. I am a gentle driver. The car only has 15,000 miles on it. This is a three year old car. I have used the car daily just locally. How can it be possible? I have drove two different Audi's A4 previously . Never had this kind of problem. I really think this car was made poorly. I bought it as a brand new car.

Sometimes the hose to the caliper will go bad/installed twisted/ etc.

The hose will allow fluid to pass through, but not back up as it should when the pedal is released. (I call this situation "check valving" as a check valve does on a water system)

Normally, I see/ hear of this situation is when the caliper does lock up fully.

Sometimes it slowly releases itself.

The "test" for when it is locked up/ turning slow is to break the bleeder valve open. This gives a place for the fluid to go and the caliper releases its grip. This is just a test to see if the hose is indeed "check valving" and needs to be untwisted or replaced due to internal damage.

Just a possible assumption!
