Roaring sound

I am hearing a roaring sound in my SUV when I reach speeds around thirty to thirty five miles an hour and above fifty five mph and so on on the highway I recently had the front-end check and was told there is no play in the wheels on either side. however, after reading all of the reviews it sounds like a wheel bearing problem but I had both wheel bearings changed. could it be that I had a bad left side bearing installed because this problem is very indicative of a hub bearing issue?

If it is a front wheel bearing/hub issue you will feel it in the floorboard of whichever side of the vehicle is making the noise. Also, you say that you had both bearings changed, was that the bearings on each side? Or was that two bearings on one side? Because each side of the car has two bearings in the hub (an inner bearing and an outer bearing). It is possible that the offending part was not changed. And personally, I suggest replacing the whole hub assembly and not bothering with getting new bearings and having them pressed in to the hub at a machine shop. You do not save much money getting new bearings for an old hub and often times you end up back at square one within a few months.

So please clarify what has been repaired/replaced and we will go from there. Thanks!
