I recently bought installed all new shocks and struts and coil springs for my car. Sitting on the ground after driving the car for 100 or so miles all of the ride heights on each wheel was equal to the other wheel of each respective side. However I noticed today that on the driver side rear coil spring was compressed more than the passenger side rear coil spring. Why has this happened? The strut mount bushings appear to be exactly the same.

Hi,

That is an interesting one. Are you sure the coil spring itself hasn't broken? Check to see. They can be difficult to see at times, but other than a broken spring or something as far as a mount has broken, it doesn't make sense that a new coil would already have gotten weak.

Let me know.

It appears the drivers side sits lower currently, I think this is because I have no passenger weight to settle the springs evenly. Is this possible?

Hi,

Honestly, I don't think that would cause it. Can you take a pic so I can see how bad it is and upload it for me?

It appears when on a level surface the difference in the rears in less than half an inch and the front is less than a quarter between driver and passenger.

Hi,

That is minimal, but shouldn't be. Have you checked to make sure nothing has cracked (near where the coils sit in the insulators)? I've seen the coil break/crack at those points before. Also, is there any noise you hear when driving which may indicate an issue?

I've checks and listened carefully, no noise to indicate broken coils, which are eibach by the way. With Koni shock/struts.

Hi,

At this point, the only suggestion I can give is to drive it for a bit to see if the right side settles into place the same as the left side. Maybe something just hasn't fully seated at this point.

Let me know if it changes.
