I was in a hurry one morning and reverse the battery on my 2007 KIA Rondo installing it. The fuse to the alternator was fried so I replaced that and is good, but the air conditioner still doesn't work. The indicator lights on the panel don't light and no air. The air conditioner fuse on the driver's side door jam was blow, but when I replaced it it blew the second I turned the car on. It appears to be a ground short. I called a few repair places but know one would even give me a ballpark estimate. I am very nervous taking it the the dealer with a "blank check" I can't afford to spend $2,00 to have it repaired. Is it possible for me to fix? Everything else in the car works normally.

unfortunately both the acon and ATMklock fuses go to the hvac control. either there is a wire fried there which are pink for acon and red for ktm or the hvac control unit is shot due to the wrong battery hookup. only if it is scanned for codes by a pro will you be able to tell anything unless you want to see if the wires are fried under dash. That is why no one will give you an estimate because it is all time to find and fix it.
